Javier Hernandez completed a move from Manchester United to Bayer Leverkusen in a deal worth £7.3 million on Monday afternoon.
The Mexico international signed a three-year contract with the Bundesliga giants who were also able to offer him Champions League football.
A fan favourite, Chicharito spent five years at Old Trafford, arriving at the club after the 2010 World Cup and going on to score 59 goals in 157 appearances.
His first three seasons at United were under the tutelage of Sir Alex Ferguson and saw him register double figures in each campaign.
The arrival of David Moyes changed Chicharito’s fortunes, as it changed United’s fortunes entirely. He scored nine goals in the Scot’s solitary season.
Louis van Gaal came in after Moyes was sacked and decided immediately that Chicharito wasn’t the striker for him, shipping the forward out to Real Madrid on loan in 2014.
His opposition to Chicharito is strange given that United don’t have many established attacking players at their disposal.
