Was the commentary of Sky’s Martin Tyler fair and balanced during Manchester United’s 3-1 win v Liverpool?

Tyler is without doubt one of the finest football commentators of all time, and anyone who has met him in person also knows that he’s a lovely man too.

With that said, Tyler’s commentary for the United-Liverpool game lead many to hurl accusations at the man behind the mic that he is in fact a closet United fan.

The moments which rubbed Liverpool fans up the wrong way related Tyler’s commentary for Christian Beneteke and Anthony Martial’s goals late in the contest.

Of the two, Benteke’s was the crazier strike, as the Liverpool forward leathered an overhead-volley in the game.

Martial then stole the headlines, as the 19-year-old scored on his United debut to wrap up the match 3-1.

As for Tyler’s commentary, he was rather subdued for Benteke’s golazo, while he went a bit nuts for Martial’s strike.

The online backlash against Martin Tyler is below.
