Reported David De Gea replacement Jasper Cillessen says he has had no contact from Man United

Reported David De Gea replacement Jasper Cillessen says he has had no contact from Man UnitedAjax goalkeeper Jasper Cillessen has confirmed he is yet to have had any contact from Manchester United.

The Dutch stopper was in solid form as his side thrashed ADO Den Haag 4-0 at the Amsterdam Arena and after the match the 26-year-old was quick to stress there has been no contact from anyone at Old Trafford.

“I have still heard nothing from Man United.” Cillessen told reporters when asked about a potential transfer to the Premier League.

The goalkeeper situation in Manchester has turned into chaos after recent news broke that Spanish goalkeeper Victor Valdes’ proposed move to Turkish side Besiktas has collapsed, though it is understood that Reds boss Louis Van Gaal is desperate to sell the former Barcelona stopper.

The future of Spanish international David De Gea is also unclear with latest reports suggesting that the clubs’ player of the year last season is set for a move to Real Madrid before this Tuesday’s transfer deadline.

If David De Gea and Victor Valdes do leave the club this week then Argentine Sergio Romero will be the only keeper left at Old Trafford, even though it is understood that the 28-year-old was signed as back up originally.

All eyes will be locked on developments in Manchester over the next few days as there is an expectation that United will certainly be busy before Tuesday’s deadline.

WTF: Chinese player puts his teammate in a headlock in order to waste time (Video)

A completely crazy incident played out over the weekend in the Chinese Super League.

Qingdao Hainiu beat Harbin Yiteng 1-0 on Saturday, and the match gave rise to an incident of ‘when teammates attack’.

We pick up the action with Qingdao’s number 17, Shi Zhe, slumped on the floor after he was apparently taken out by a foul.

Two Harbin players proceeded to lift Shi Zhe off the floor in order to restart the match, but in a mental moment, Qingdao’s number 16, Gao Xiang, proceeded to put his teammate in a headlock in a clear attempt to waste time in order for medical staff to come on the pitch.

According to reports, that incident was just one prickly moment in the match, and after the game the two sides got into an altercation in the tunnel (see the picture above).

Tottenham enter the race to sign Juventus target Axel Witsel [Telegraph]Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Zenit Saint Petersburg midfielder Axel Witsel according to reports from the Sunday Telegraph.

The 26-year-old is one of the Russian Champions’ standout performers and has been linked with a move to Europe’s top clubs during the past few seasons.

Man United goalkeeper Victor Valdes’ move to Besiktas collapses [Di Marzio]

Man United goalkeeper Victor Valdes move to Besiktas collapses [Di Marzio]Manchester United goalkeeper Victor Valdes will not be joining Besiktas according to Sky Italia journalist Gianluca Di Marzio.

The former Barcelona goalkeeper had been expected to seal his move to the Turkish side this weekend but it is understood that their was a last minute change of heart by Besiktas, and the move has now collapsed.

The 33-year-old is out of favour with United manager Louis Van Gaal after the Dutchman become unhappy with the goalkeeper’s attitude when he refused to play for the Reds’reserve team towards the end of last season.

Victor Valdes’ future was sealed when United signed Argentina goalkeeper Sergio Romero as cover for David de Gea, with the latter’s future still yet to be decided amid interest from Real Madrid.

In light of this latest news, it will be interesting to see how Reds boss Louis Van Gaal acts. The Manchester club currently has 3 high profile keepers on its books, but the big question will be whether or not they can hold on to Spanish international David De Gea before Tuesday’s transfer deadline.

‘It’s not worth celebrating’ Arsenal fans bizarre reaction after win v Newcastle (video)

Its not worth celebrating Arsenal fans bizarre reaction after win v Newcastle (video)Arsenal fans have reacted in downbeat fashion after yesterday’s 1-0 victory over Newcastle at St James’ Park.

Despite the Gunners gaining their second league win of the season thanks to an unfortunate own goal from Magpies centre back Fabricio Coloccini it seems that Reds supporters are still not satisfied with the way their side has been playing so far this season.

One fan spoke to ArsenalTV after yesterday’s game and claimed that Saturday’s victory wasn’t even worth celebrating.

It is also clear that fans at the Emirates would like to see manager Arsene Wenger add to his squad before Tuesday’s transfer deadline.

The North London side have been constantly linked with a striker throughout this summer transfer window, but many Arsenal fans are convinced that the side needs to sign a defensive midfielder as cover for Francis Coquelin.

It will be an anxious few days for Gunners fans to see if any more additions arrive in North London within the next few days.

Tottenham fans have mixed reactions to reports Alexandre Pato may move to WHL (Tweets)

Tottenham fans have mixed reactions to reports Alexandre Pato may move to WHL (Tweets)

One of the big transfer stories this Sunday revolves around the claims coming out of Brazil that Alexandre Pato could be about to join Tottenham.

Spurs have struggled in front of goal at the start of the season, with Harry Kane yet to get off the mark this campaign.

Spurs drew 0-0 with Everton on Saturday, meaning that the Lillywhites have only scored three goals in their opening four games in the league.

Tottenham have sought to add more goals to their team this season with the recent captures of Clinton Njie and Son Heung-Min, and now Pato could be about to join too.

It feels like Pato, 25, has been around for forever after he burst onto the scene as a 16-year-old with AC Milan.

The striker is currently on loan at Sao Paulo from Corinthians, but after playing on Saturday against Ponte Preta, Pato admitted he’s not sure where his future now lies. In the meanwhile, whispers are getting louder that the forward could move to White Hart Lane.

So would Spurs fans be happy with Pato joining their ranks? Reaction seems mixed.

Wayne Rooney helps Louis van Gaal pick Man Uniteds team & coaching staff [Sun]

The Sun on Sunday have some exclusive quotes from Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal on his relationship with star striker Wayne Rooney.

Man United return to action on Sunday in the Premier League with an away trip to Swansea.

Rooney will be hoping the occasion proves profitable, as the striker continues to search for his first Premier League goal of the season.

Rooney had recently suffered a goal drought, but that came to a crashing end in the Champions League last week, when Rooney scored a hat-trick away at Club Brugge.

Van Gaal has now revealed Rooney’s influence behind the scenes at Old Trafford, as the Dutch boss has announced that Rooney helps him pick not only the United team but he also affects the coaching staff too. As reported by the BBC, Van Gaal told the Sun:

Things like the selection and the kitchen and the members of the staff, everything you can mention, he is involved.

I think he trusts me so that is also very important and I trust him. So when he comes to me and has remarks I always pay attention.

Wayne Rooney, 29, has scored 233 goals for Manchester United. He needs four more to equal Denis Law’s total of 237 and 16 to equal the club’s all-time top scorer.

Sao Paulo prepare for Alexandre Pato to move to Tottenham before the window closes [UOL]

Sao Paulo prepare for Alexandre Pato to move to Tottenham before the window closes [UOL]

The headline story on Brazilian news outlet UOL on Sunday morning centres on Tottenham’s potential capture of Alexandre Pato before the transfer window closes on September 1.

Pato, 25, has been linked with a move to the Premier League in the last few weeks of the summer.

Last weekend, the Telegraph linked Pato with an £11m move to either Manchester United or Chelsea, but now it’s Tottenham who are widely listed as the prime suitor for the striker.

Pato is currently on loan at Sao Paulo from Corinthians, however news spilled out over the weekend that the player’s representative Giuliano Bertolucci has flown to London to complete a deal with Mauricio Pochettino’s side before the end of the transfer window.

Moreover, Pato’s agent Gilmar Veloz has confirmed that there’s an offer on the table for the Brazilian club, which was denied by president Roberto de Andrade.

On Saturday, Pato featured as Sao Paulo beat Ponte Preta 3-0, and after the game the striker was non-committal about his future. He said:

I do not know, I have today, tomorrow we’ll see what happens. We’ll see on Monday. I have to see.

The manager will come here I will talk to him. And I have to sit, I have to study. I want to stay (at Sao Paulo), but it’s not up to me.

Sao Paulo coach Juan Carlos Osorio also hinted at Pato’s potential move to London, saying:

If he goes it’s going to be a shame… Alexandre is, in my opinion, the best striker of the Brazilian soccer in Brazil. I think this is impossible that he won’t receive offers. On the contrary, I think it’s hard to understand that he’s still playing Brazilian football.

The Sun stitch up Cristiano Ronaldo, Brazilian woman claims she had affair when he was with Irina Shayk

The Sun on Sunday have pulled off another stitch up, as the tabloid have attempted to smear the character of Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Sun claim to have sourced a Brazilian woman who claims Ronaldo had an affair with her whilst the Real Madrid superstar was still dating Russian supermodel Irina Shayk.

According to the report, Ronaldo has his affair during the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

In a classic tabloid headline, the Sun announce “My 42D boobs bust up Irina and Ronaldo”.

The Sun stitch up Cristiano Ronaldo, Brazilian woman claims she had affair when he was with Irina Shayk

The woman at the centre of the story is called Diana Satilho, and by the looks of things, she only have a very limited social media presence.

On Twitter, Diana Satilho has a pathetic eight followers, while her Instagram account is private. Unfortunately we could not find her on Facebook either.

Her social media presence is important, as according to the Diana Satilho:

(Cristiano Ronaldo) contacted her on Facebook in 2012, adding: “He said he loved big ones, that’s why he’d noticed me. He asked me to strip a few times but mostly he just wanted to see his ‘girls’.

The killer lines in the Sun’s article are as follows:

Diana says they finally met at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. Last September she says they had sex three times in one night in Portugal’s Algarve.

She said: “Cristiano told me to hand over my mobile, grabbed me by the hair and led me to his room.”

According to the Sun, Ronaldo had to end his fling with the Brazilian when Irina Shayk found a message from the woman on Ronaldo’s phone.

David De Gea set to join Real Madrid in a cut price deal, Man United eye Gerard Pique [Express]

David De Gea set to join Real Madrid in a cut price deal, Man United eye Gerard Pique [Express]

The Sunday Express have remained true to form this weekend, as they’ve splashed the back page of their tabloid with yet another questionable transfer piece.

With just three days to go until the transfer window closes at 6pm UK time on September 1st, Manchester United are tipped to finally be ready to sell David De Gea to Real Madrid.

De Gea has yet to feature for Man United this season, as the Spaniard’s mental state has been called into question by coach Louis van Gaal.

Now, say the Express, “relations between the player and management (are) virtually at breaking point”, and that has forced the Red Devils to accept that they have to sell their keeper.

Perhaps surprisingly, the Express then go on to suggest United will agree a cut price deal for De Gea, who is widely valued around 30 million pounds.

For some strange reason, the Express believe United will sell the goalie to Madrid “accepting a lower offer of around £25 million”.

Dejan Lovren deletes his Instagram account after abuse from Liverpool fans (Tweets)

There has been an immediate casualty following Liverpool’s shock 3-0 home defeat to West Ham on Saturday in the Premier League: Dejan Lovren’s Instagram account.

Lovren was singled out for special abuse from Liverpool supporters yesterday after his woeful performance for the Reds.

Lovren completely gifted the Hammers their second goal after inexplicably giving the ball away at the corner flag, allowing West Ham to capitalise, as Mark Noble finished off a quick move.

Amazingly, the 26-year-old Croatian actually had the perfect chance to redeem himself in the final minutes, but missed a free and easy header.

But the finger of blame can’t be solely pointed at Lovren – Philippe Coutinho was reckless in getting himself sent off for two yellow cards after just 53 minutes.

It should be noted that prior to the West Ham match, Lovren had been one of Liverpool’s best performers in the opening weeks of the season. However one shoddy showing was all it took for fans to start abusing their own again, and in response Lovren has shut down his Instagram account.

Below are tweets on the topic.

Kevin Friend 'hates' Liverpool - referee trolled on Wikipedia after sending off Philippe Coutinho

FootballLiverpoolVaishali Bhardwaj

It seems some Liverpool fans were unhappy with referee Kevin Friend after the club's 3-0 loss to West Ham on Saturday after the official's Wikipedia page was edited to read he "hates" the Reds.

Slaven Bilic's Hammers side secured their first win at Anfield in 52 years thanks to goals from Manuel Lanzini, Mark Noble and Diafra Sakho in a game that also saw Philippe Coutinho and goalscorer Noble sent off.

With West Ham leading 2-0, the home side were reduced to 10 men after Friend dismissed Coutinho - who had been shown a yellow card for dissent in the first half - for his sliding tackle on Dimitri Payet in the second period.

Despite Noble later being sent off, the result ended Liverpool's unbeaten start to the season - with some fans appearing to point the finger at Friend after the game.

Keen-eyed supporters noticed Friend's Wikipedia page had been edited following the match to read: "Kevin Friend (born 8 July 1971) is a terrible referee. He sent off Philippe Coutinho for no reason and HATES Liverpool."

However, the official's Wikipedia page was later re-edited, with the offending comments removed.

The victory lifted West Ham into seventh place while Liverpool sit one point ahead of the Hammers in sixth position.

'Chelsea's Diego Costa a good old fashioned bruiser' - Damien Delaney enjoys battle with Blues star

FootballCrystal PalaceVaishali Bhardwaj

Crystal Palace defender Damien Delaney revealed he enjoyed battling with Chelsea striker Diego Costa during the Eagles' 2-1 win over the champions on Saturday, labelling the contest a "good old fashioned bruiser.'

Alan Pardew's side handed Jose Mourinho his second-ever defeat at Stamford Bridge - on his 100th Premier League home match in charge of the club - after Bakary Sako and Joel Ward's second-half goals rendered Radamel Falcao's debut strike meaningless.

The visitors, who came into the game on Saturday having won two of their three league games beforehand, performed superbly to secure their first victory at Chelsea since 1982.

And Delaney was one of the Eagles' stand-out performers after he restricted the threat of Costa well, which drew praise from Pardew after the match.

And the centre-back later took to his Instagram account to admit he had revelled in his meeting with the Brazilian-born Spain striker.

Alongside a picture of him tackling Costa on Saturday, Delaney wrote: "I ain't gonna lie... I enjoyed that... Good 'ol fashioned bruiser... #Palaceabu".

Palace boss Pardew also expressed his delight after the victory - the club's third in four league games - and said the win had been his best as Eagles manager.

"As Crystal Palace manager, this was my best performance of the team that I’ve seen," he said.

"Not because of the victory here, but because of the manner of how we played.

"We looked a good team today and, if we can keep the team fit, keep the spirit that we have with people like Damo [Delaney] and Scotty Dann, we can have a good season.

"It’s always great to come here and managing here. It’s a great place."

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino: I'm not worried about Harry Kane's goal drought

FootballPremier LeagueTottenhamSportSAM LONG

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino has revealed that he is not worried about Harry Kane's Premier League goal drought.

The 22-year-old striker scored 31 goals in all competitions last season but is yet to score during the current campaign.

The forward missed a gilt-edged chance during Spurs' 0-0 draw with Everton at White Hart Lane but Pochettino is adamant that he is unconcerned about Kane's slow start.

"The top scorers top in the world always have some difficult periods when its difficult to score and maybe now for him the beginning of the season is difficult for him.

"We know we don't need to speak too much we don't need to put more pressure on hiss shoulders. If he follows the same way he will start to score.

"I am happy with him. I'm not worried about that I think in the next few weeks he will show that he can score," said the Argentine coach.

Meanwhile, Kane is expected to be named in Roy Hodgson's England squad next week, despite his goal drought, and Pochettino admitted that it could do the striker good to spend some time with the national team.

"Maybe, yes. I think the announcement is tomorrow - maybe it's good," he said.

John Stones to Chelsea: Defender has comes to terms with Everton stay, says Roberto Martinez

FootballSportTottenhamPremier LeagueSAM LONG

Everton manager Roberto Martinez is adamant that John Stones has come to terms with the likelihood that he will still be an Everton player when the transfer window closes on Tuesday evening.

The 21-year-old has been the subject of strong interest from reigning Premier League champions Chelsea throughout the summer, but the Toffees are determined to retain their prize asset.

Several bids from Jose Mourinho's side have been turned down by Everton and Stones' transfer request was also rejected last week.

The defender produced a superb display during Everton's 0-0 draw against Tottenham on Saturday evening and Martinez firmly believes that the youngster has accepted that he will not be allowed to leave Goodison Park.

"Absolutely, yes. We have a very strong project which is giving young players opportunities and then we need to have a long term ambition. It's very hard to have players in the modern game like John Stones, Ross Barkley and Romelu Lukaku young players that are fulfilling huge roles and we want to become a winning team John is a big part of that.

"We are a special football club. Remember we have a real history. Now we haven't got a Champions League budget but we have many other aspects. The fans understand John has been put in an incredible position but what John has done is never let the team down and he played with an incredible focus," said Martinez.

JohnStones.jpg

Martinez believes that the way Stones has played during the speculation surrounding his future suggests that he can reach the very top of the game and the Spanish manager also revealed that he was proud of how the entire debacle was managed by Everton as a whole.

"I think it's there for everyone to see. Today, once more, he was always in control. He's an incredible defender the way he reads the game you would never say he is only 21 years old

"We all know how under the spotlight it's been but the signs of his performances were of someone who has the potential to become an England captain.

Then you look at our fans, the relationship they have and the delight at having John as an Evertonian. We have our own projects, our own ambitions, and John is a big part of that.

"It was great to see our football club showing a really strong face," he added.

West Ham fan celebrates win over Liverpool by getting tattoo of 3-0 scoreline after Twitter vow

FootballWest HamLiverpoolVaishali Bhardwaj

A West Ham fan lived up to his promise of getting a tattoo inked should the Hammers beat Liverpool at Anfield for the first time in 52 years after Slaven Bilic's side defeated the Reds 3-0 on Saturday.

Just two weeks after another West Ham supporter celebrated the club's victory over London rivals Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium with a tattoo of the 2-0 scoreline, Hammers fan Jon High decided to do the same thing after making the vow on Friday.

Writing on Twitter one day before the game, Mr High said: "52 long years since the famous Irons won at Anfield. If we do it tommorow i shall get a tattoo to commemorate the famous occasion!"

And true to his word, Mr High went through with his vow after posting a picture of his new tattoo featuring the 3-0 scoreline from Anfield along with the names of goalscorers Manuel Lanzini, Mark Noble and Diafra Sakho.

"Done! Come on you Irons," he wrote alongside the photo, which has had nearly 2,000 retweets and 800 favourites.

West Ham secured a famous win over Brendan Rodgers' side at Anfield on Saturday, although the clash saw both teams reduced to 10 men.

Argentine playmaker Lanzini opened up the scoring on his debut for the Hammers before Noble and Sakho made it 3-0.

Liverpool had Philippe Coutinho sent off for two bookable offences as West Ham also saw Noble dismissed for his foul on substitute Danny Ings.

The victory lifts West Ham into seventh place while Liverpool - whose unbeaten record in the Premier League this season was ended on Saturday - sit one point ahead in sixth position.

John Stones to Chelsea: Everton fans troll Blues with brilliant chant after Toffees block move

FootballSportChelseatom dutton

Everton fans were out in full force trolling Chelsea after the Toffees rejected John Stones' transfer request earlier this week.

The Blues have lodged four bids for Stones - the latest worth £38million - but have seen them all knocked back by Everton, who are determined to keep one of their prized assets.

Club chairman Bill Kenwright released a statement on Thursday confirming the club are not willing to let Stones leave.

“Since the start of the transfer window, we have resolutely turned down offers from another Premier League football club for our player," Kenwright wrote.

And Everton fans were celebrating their club's tough stance ahead of their match at White Hart Lane on Saturday, which ended 0-0.

To the tune of the Beatles hit Money Can't buy You Love, they chanted: "Martinez says he's not for sale and I am satisfied, Chelsea want those kind of things that money just can't buy, well I don't care too much for money, money can't buy you Stones, can't buy you Stones."

Tottenham 0 Everton 0: Tim Howard the star man as Spurs wait for a win goes on

FootballSportTottenhamPremier LeagueDuncan Beach

Tim Howard denied Tottenham their first Barclays Premier League win of the season with a string of superb saves that enabled Everton to leave White Hart Lane with a goalless draw.

Harry Kane, Ryan Mason and Toby Alderweireld were kept at bay by Howard in the first half, although Kane should have finished his one on one with the American goalkeeper.

Spurs, who named Erik Lamela on the bench, only had themselves to blame for not grabbing all three points in a dominant second half that saw chance after chance squandered.

Both sides had a player carried from the pitch on a stretcher, Everton's Tom Cleverley in clear pain after being felled by Eric Dier and Mousa Dembele following a bizarre self-inflicted injury.

Tottenham's dominance was apparent early on as Nacer Chadli dazzled down the left, teeing up Nabil Bentaleb only to see a tame shot scuffed wide of the right post.

There was panic in the Spurs defence when Kyle Walker gave the ball away to Cleverley and it took a fine save by Hugo Lloris to keep out the ensuing shot.

Everton should have slipped behind in the 24th minute but Howard stuck out his left leg to stop Kane, who only had the visiting keeper to beat after collecting a superb pass by Mason.

It was then Mason who was denied by Howard, with Chadli the provider once more and the American then steered an Alderweireld header over the crossbar.

Cleverley went down under a heavy tackle by Dier, his right ankle caught between the legs of the Spurs defender, and he was carried from the pitch his injured leg in a brace.

Somehow Everton cleared their lines despite being repeatedly bamboozled by the quick feet of Dembele, but then the Belgium playmaker became the second player to be taken away by medics.

Even upon viewing replays it was unclear exactly how Dembele had been hurt, although his right boot appeared to clip his left Achilles after passing the ball in what was a self-inflicted injury.

Dier had escaped a booking for his tackle on Cleverley but referee Mike Jones reached for the yellow card when he body-checked Ross Barkley.

The pressure was building on Everton's goal and it took some desperate scrambling defence and a skied shot by Chadli to keep the match goalless.

Romelu Lukaku was making his presence felt with a couple of dubious challenges and the visitors could have taken the lead only for Arouna Kone to steer a glancing header wide.

The chances dried up for Spurs in the closing stages, in part thanks to the arrival from the bench of the tenacious Steven Naismith, who brought renewed fight to Everton's rearguard action.
