The French attacker could not have had a better debut for Manchester United, especially after such a big transfer fee was paid to Monaco at the end of the summer transfer window.
Martial came on to the Old Trafford pitch in the second half and confirmed the Manchester United victory just as it looked like Liverpool could be getting back into the encounter thanks to Christian Benteke’s scissors kick.
On Saturday night, Anthony Martial’s wife Samantha paid tribute to her husband after his solo special.
Samantha Martial posted a picture of Anthony with a sweet message: “Babe , for me you are and will always be my best friend the best husband ever, a lovely daddy and the best player of the world”.
Next up for Anthony Martial and Manchester United is a trip to PSV in the Champions League on Tuesday night.
