The 29-year-old defender’s future at Anfield has been under constant speculation since the end of last season and it now looks like the Spaniards four-year stay on Merseyside has come to an end.
It had been reported that Reds boss Brendan Rodgers had decided that the left back was surplus to requirements at Anfield and it looks like Baggies manager Tony Pulis is ready to pounce.
The West Brom boss has been keen to strengthen his defense before the end of the transfer window and has already signed centre backs James Chester from Hull and Jonny Evans from Manchester United.
The departure of Jose Enrique may spark rumours regarding any incomings at Liverpool before this afternoon’s transfer deadline. The club have previously said that they are not looking to add anyone before the close of the window today, though anything can change on deadline day.
