Done Deal: West Ham re sign Barcelonas Alex Song on a season long loan [Tweet]

West Ham have wrapped up an important piece of business early in the morning on transfer deadline day.

Hammers co-owner David Gold tweeted the news that West Ham have re-signed Barcelona’s Alex Song on a season long loan for the 2015-16 season.

Song, much like Arsenal’s Carl Jenkinson, impressed at Upton Park last season during his loan spells from the Camp Nou, and the Irons have now managed to secure both players for another season.

The capture of 27-year-old Song caps a busy summer at Upton Park.

Slaven Bilic has taken over the reigns in the dugout, while the Hammers have signed a raft of players including Pedro Obiang from Sampdoria, Dimitri Payet from Marseille, Angelo Ogbonna from Juventus and Manuel Lanzini from Al-Jazira.

On the pitch, the Irons have been incredibly unpredictable, as they have picked up fantastic wins away at Arsenal and Liverpool, while they’ve been beaten at home by Leicester and Bournemouth.

David Gold’s tweet confirming the Song deal is below.
