West Ham defender Angelo Obgonna has defended his performance in West Ham’s 4-3 defeat at home to Bournemouth.
The 27-year-old was hauled off after just 35 minutes as the Cherries raced into a two-goal lead at the Boleyn Ground, with West Ham boss Slaven Bilic admitting after the game that ‘everything went wrong’ for his side in a disastrous start to the match.
However, some Hammers fans reacted angrily on Twitter when the club announced the Italian’s withdrawal.
Jace De Souza wrote: “Ogbonna has looked decent Should of subbed off Cresswell.”
Taking to his own account after the match, Ogbonna relayed his disappointment.
He tweeted: “Haunted and unhappy match! I have to accept the coach's decisions but I was disappointed when I had to go back to the bench after 35.”
