Andres Iniesta helped Barcelona to beat Sevilla 5-4 in a dramatic UEFA Super Cup game in Tiblisi, Georgia, on Tuesday night.
Iniesta's influence was obvious. They led 4-2 when he was forced off injured with a knock in the 63rd minute and nearly saw his side crash to a shocking defeat.
That was avoided though, and it all meant the midfielder picked up the 28th major honour of his career.
He's still only 31.
As noted by Marca, it means the midfielder has equalled former team-mate Xavi in terms of honours.
Both are now the joint most successful Spanish players in history with 28 trophies.
Marca wrote before Tuesday's match:
(Xavi) has picked up 28 club and international team honours throughout his playing career: One World Cup, two European Championships, two FIFA Club World Cups, four Champions Leagues, two European Super Cups, eight La Liga titles, three Spanish Cup winners medals and six Spanish Super Cups. Iniesta has one less - a league title that Xavi won before Andrés made his first-team debut -, but he will catch him up if Barça lift the title at the Dinamo Arena.
Considering Xavi's now caught, and with Barcelona chasing six trophies in total this season, it would be a major shock if Iniesta doesn't top him by the end of the season.
